The Magnificent Eleven

Robert Capa was in Normandy on D-day
taking pictures for Life Magazine.
Avoiding the hell that was around him, he managed to shoot 106 photos of which only 11 survived.

Heres a website about the machinegun that was firing at the guys on the beach…http://198.144.2.125/MG42/Machinengewehr%2042%20-%20Home.htm

The gun had a cycle rate of 1200 rounds per minute if the shooter was nervous and kept firing he would go through ammo fast not to mention burn out the barrel. Makes you wonder how nervous they must have been when they saw hundreds of landing craft coming at them. LOL
