Milano Traffic Stop Motion
2007/09/22I was stuck in a 5pm congestion yesterday, so I whipped out my trusty camera and captured some boring-ass traffic.
I have to admit it looks pretty cool at this speed.Below is the route. Click for Hires.
I live in the green circle.
Goddamn it looks like crap on youtube.
Attitude With No Ears

What if Mickey were black?
Mickey Mofo…by juanco and me.
This is several years old…
I found it while rummaging my big fat hard drives.
Lightouch Design Competition 2007
2007/07/19

This was my entry for the Lightouch Competition…
Of course I didn’t win, I should listen more closely to Bruce Mau (No.26).
Click for hires, the text is in the second image.
Erwin Hauer Surfaces
2007/07/07I’m currently collaborating in the design of a hotel in Beijing.
We are making a wall inspired by Erwin Hauer inside one of the restaurants.
I read his Continua book and was mesmerized by the complexity and sublime beauty of his work.
I modeled one of his shapes and now I’m totally hooked on continuing a personal research on the subject…
From this simple shape (very similar to his Design No.5) a complex surface can be achieved just by repeating the pattern.
I will post different versions of this as they come up.
Super List
2004/06/30Still not sure if bumping a No.13 sign while avoiding a black cat under a ladder thinking about changing you boat’s name gives you bad luck??? Go give a look at Old Superstitions…you’ll find a collection of ones you’ve never heard of. It’ll just make your life a bit more complicated, not that I believe any of this…(paranoia sets in)…
Fractality
2003/08/20When I turned 11 or 12 years old, my grandfather gave me a year subscription to Discover Magazine. (it wasn’t actually a subscription, he would buy it from the newsstand and then give it to me!) Every month I would wait patiently for the next one. I didn’t understand most of what I read, but I do remember a lot of the articles. The one I found the most fascinating was about fractals with its beautiful images, irregular curves or shapes which could be magnified many times and still see the same shape. Yesterday I was on the lookout for a fractal generator, and found Fractal Explorer. It is a great piece of software with many features, plus the graphics are simply breathtaking. Give it a try. It is easy to use, and can be extremely powerful on the hands of a pro. I rendered some images; Ill post new ones when I get better, these are almost default settings!
So there you go grandad…thanks for the scientific spark!
Take The Rorschach Test
2003/07/30While flying to Amsterdam the other day I wanted to write down an idea I had…I took out my trusty notebook opened it to the first un-scribbled page and uncapped my pen. Big black bubbles started forming at the tip. “I am going to stain myself”, I thought and let the ink fall into the paper. I had several flashbacks of psychology lessons in high-school…..Rorschach!!! I hurriedly closed the notebook, and let it dry. After opening it I discovered a perfect Ink Blot. The Original Inkblots!
So, what do you see here? (comment below)
Stego
2003/06/04Steganography or stego is a way of hiding information inside a picture, text, or audio file.
In the example below I’ve hidden a technical drawing inside the picture of a Ferrari.
To anyone it looks like the picture of a car, but hidden in the redundant bits of info is the other picture.
This can be used to pass information to other people without anyone’s knowledge. The person receiving
the message only needs a password to decrypt the file.
It is said that Al Qaeda is communicating with it’s people by hiding plans in porn pictures or Ebay sales.
I used Hide in Picture to do it! Download the software and see for yourself….

Epson Future Printer
2003/02/26Just finished designing a printer for an Aedo-to/Epson competition.
Click on the images for Hi-Res.
Transformation is the most fascinating thing about printers. You feed it a white piece of paper, and out comes a physical
representation of a digital file.
Curiosity about the process makes me open the cover frequently while it is printing….transparency would solve this.
Printers usually take up lots of space when not in use….I propose a book. Useful when needed, stored away when not.
In our hyperconnected world the need for an on/ff switch dies. Let the printer print when it needs to.
Cables are useless with WI-FI.
It is rather stupid to have ink remainder levels on our screens when we can make the tanks transparent.
Electronics can be stored inside the main cilinder.
Be real, the print is more important than the printer.
