Balance Through Unbalance

2009.06.15

Imagine a machine whose only goal is to waste energy…
Plugged in, the center heats up and is cooled at the same time by fans that move cooling gas.

Think of it as a slick product that gives the finger to environmentalists.

Better Method For Opening Rectangular Cuboid Cartons

2009.05.18

Ignore the instructions on the box…
Use this method to open your milk or juice, and avoid the drips and the inconstant glug-glug-glug you get from their awful spout.

Trompo Chair

2009.02.06

Trompo is an armchair.
blah blah inspired by tops blah
blah probably uncomfortable blah blah

The base could be metal, the top in rotational molded plastic,
lacquered with the shiniest dolphin killing paint.

If you want to help me produce it, drop me a line.
I have a full catalog of unwanted designdreams!

Lollipop Clocks

2009.01.14

As I continue dusting my hard drive, I keep finding good objects:

A small table clock that has a svuota tasche, italian for pocket emptier.
All that is needed:

a ceramic base,
a wooden stick,
and a round clock part made in MDF
with a bronze bezel.

Simple.
Now, let’s produce it.

Long Carousel Lines

2009.01.13

This is coat hanger obviously inspired by chair carousels.
I like it’s umcomfortable proportions, and it’s pseudo-old look.

The top could be made in injection molded fake wood. //plastic//
Natural fiber lines, and >bronze< capping both ends.

The hook looks like the pull-string of old outboard engines.
I’ve pulled a few. I like boats.

Wanna produce it? This is work in progress.
You can be a part of this! email me!

Direction Unknown Side Table

2008.11.17

Direction Unknown:
That’s where I’ve been going for the past year///

This small table is a reflection of my current struggle to find a direction in my design.
It is a work in progress and is by no means finished.

The magnetic force field is engraved into the top.
Top and base are made of Corian, and the leg is in lacquered bronze.
There is a compass in the center and the name of piece is encoded into the leg in Morse code.

Let me know what you think.
As for me, at least I’ll know where North is now.

Bottle Rocket

2008.10.31

A stool/container/side table inspired by all that wine drinking I’ve been doing lately.
The bottom is made of thick glass and has a concave just like the bottles.
The lid is made of cork (obviously!)

I’d make them in three colors:
Green, brown, and gray.

The lid is asymmetrical;
it makes it more comfortable to sit on while creating a subtle rhythm when you group several together.

As with my other design dreams this product is looking for a producer.
If you want to bring it to life, drop me an email.

Cin cin, I’ll go get a glass of wine now!

Smoke Signal

2008.10.23

This is an over sized fruit bowl or what in Italy could be called a centrotavola.
In other words, a functional smoking sculpture for your table.

It is made up of three pieces held together by a couple of screws:

A CNC wooden piece,
a stamped steel tray,
and a lathed wooden base.

All three are then laquered in the same color.
A natural wood version could work too…

Do you like it?

Siamese Dream Vases

2008.10.18

A couple of vases or containers made by outlining a silhouette to create the second shape.
They could be manufactured in both plastic or glass.
Variable size,***** and colors.

I will keep researching this technique to make shapes///
I’ve got other ideas…

Like it? Want to produce it?
Drop me a line.
I have many other design dreams looking for people to love them.

Modern and Classic Magazine Rack

2008.10.06

A useful sculpture that displays the magazines you’re currently reading.
It was inspired by the music racks you find on pianos…

Materials:

Lacquered MDF or wood
Laser cut steel
4 screws

It could be offered in a variety of colors and finishes.

Want to produce it?
Send me an email.

Tethto Table Clock

2008.10.03

Tethto is a table clock that I designed for Diamantini & Domeniconi.
We got to the prototype stage but they weren’t convinced.
I still like it, so here it is.

It has two clock mechanisms for dual time and it swivels on it’s crossbones base.

The name comes from Fiona trying to say Dethklok.
That’s what she calls skulls…

Eileen Side Table

2008.07.14

Ultra simple side table.

Materials:
Wood/ Lacquered MDF
Metal tube
A couple of screws

Inspired by Eileen Grey’s E1027 table even though it does not bear the functionality of the original.

Want to produce it?
Send me an email.

Sass Planters

2008.07.11

Sass is a rock-like collection of planters.
Made in roto-molded polyethylene they can be produced in any size.

There’s a gap between the two pieces that allows the plant’s roots to breathe and prevents root rot.

I think this would be a perfect addition to Serralunga’s line.
If you have a company and are interested in manufacturing Sass don’t hesitate to contact me.
Se vi piace, non esitare a contattarmi!

Tepui Coffee Table

2008.06.26

Tepui is one piece injection-molded low table.
You can store magazines or books in the grooves between the planes.

I think Kartell would be the perfect company for it.
Se vi piace, non esitare a contattarmi!

I’m looking for someone to manufacture it…

Cyclops Stool

2008.06.16

Cyclops is an evolution of Stool+.

The idea is quite simple:
A stool with a container/drawer.

With only one screw you can adjust the height and open/close the container.
It’s perfect for your messy kids!

I’m looking for a manufacturer to produce it…
Get in touch, let’s talk.

Striped Clock

2008.05.08

Recently I’ve started to design while dreaming.
I wake up with the finished product in my head.
It’s effortless, and I hope it happens a lot more.

The Striped Clock is a product of this dreamy creativity.
It’s a simple tube with a clock inside.
Protruding from the wall it projects a shadow which could be used as a sort of sun clock.

Wadda ya think?
Want to produce it?

Coatrain

2008.04.24

Shaped like a rainy cloud, Coatrain will hold your clothes.
The hooks are made made of rubber, and the front is a mirror so you can see yourself before going out…

I’m looking for a manufacturer to produce it.

Mirrored Mirrors

2008.04.23

Any horizontal mirrored shape will look awesome as a mirror.
As with the Rorschach Test, people will assign a likeness to the shapes.

Marbles

2008.03.05

Marbles is a concept for low tables.
The idea is pretty straightforward:

A “socket” is drilled in the material.
A felt spacer helps the balls glide.
The rest is done by gravity.

The surface could be made out of wood, Corian, or marble.
The balls out of brass, marble, or even bowling balls!

I’m looking for a manufacturer to produce it.

Foucault’s Pendulum

2008.02.20

This is table that I’ve been fine tuning for a while now…
The pendulum serves as a counterweight, allowing the base to be as thin as possible.
Simple, essential, dare I say it; beautiful.

I’m looking for a manufacturer to produce it.
More info on the inspiration.

Like it? Want to produce it?
Drop me a line.
Have a look at my other design dreams…

Toybag

2008.02.19

An adjustable side table.
Looking for a manufacturer to produce it.
