JVC Mono
This is a video camera concept I developed for a competition some years ago.
I can’t even remember who organized it, but hey, I think this product still rocks!

JVC Mono is a video camera in a monocular format.
Viewing instruments have long had this shape; think of a pirate’s long view, or a telescope.
These instruments have no buttons and their use is very simple. Pull to open, twist to focus.
The simplicity of the interface allows the person to enjoy the moment… Movements
become second nature with use…(think mouse gestures)
To use JVC Mono pull to turn on, twist to zoom, squeeze the main body to start/stop recording, and
double squeeze to review the video.
JVC Mono has no cables or openings of any kind. The memory and batteries are included. To download
pictures and recharge the batteries the camera is placed on top of its base.
Still photographs can be made from the videos. A video is a collection of pictures anyway. Think of
professional photographers….they take many pictures choosing only the best. Choose the best stills
from your own videos through the included software.
JVC Mono is covered in silicone which helps with the grip and protects the camera in case of fall.
The Pirate’s Nest

What is going on in my ship?
I wish I had this in my garden when I was kid…
Algae Bar
Last year my dad had an idea to build a bar.
We played around with some concepts, and did the preliminary renders you see here.
Sadly, this is as far as it got.
This was in my digital drawer somewhere, and I thought you’d be interested in seeing them.
The golden wall is supposed to be gold leaf!

Nip Tuck Push Pull

Now that 3D models are freely available on the internet, what’s to keep me from slightly modyfing an
existing object and turning it into something new?
I took a Panton Chair and turned it into a sofa…
Do I infringe on their copyright?
How much modification is enough to stave off the lawyers?
As I mentioned on my previous minifesto 3D Print Will Kick Our Asses,
this is just the beginning of sampling in the design world.
I can’t wait to see the equivalent of Danger Mouse’s Grey Album…

This morning I glanced at the magazine rack and realized there was a Cruz-Diez.
Perpetual Day/Month Calendar

10 Years Is Too Long
Even though we like our connection to the decimal system,
the decade will drop out of favor as a way define cultural changes.
The closer we get to the singularity,
change accelerates and the information produced will be too much to compress in a decade.

WW4 ’cause 3 Is Already Happening
25 years from now wars will not be fought over oil…
Conflict and preemptive strikes will happen when some country runs amok and pollutes or misuses the environment.
People are finally realizing that ecology and sustainability knows no borders.
If somebody mistreats the Earth we all suffer.

happy/productive/dreamy 2008

Hey…
All the best, may half of your wishes come true!
I’m back from my online hiatus.
My only 2008 resolution for the site is this:
Create something new every day for a year.
It can be anything. A drawing, song, thought, photo, whatever as long as I created it.
Lets hope I can meet all our expectations and see if I’m as creative as I think I am.
Cheers.
