Tamoil Smoke

Talk about conveying the wrong image…
Doesn’t the car seem to be smoking the green trees?

Here are some clocks presented during the Milan and Paris object fairs in January 2007… designed by me.

Panino is clock system… Using only one case we can build many different models just by changing the laser-cut metal grille.
Because of their thickness, you get a nice shadow play as the light changes throughout the day.
Panino is Italian for sandwich and the clocks are built like one.
The mechanism is probably the cheese.

Codice clocks are inspired by sex symbols, military insignia, and totems…
Shapes that appear to hold more meaning than their simplicity suggest.

Memories Can’t Wait

2007/06/13

We are collecting data at a faster rate than ever before…
I have 3 HDs full with thousands of pictures, recorded tens of hours of video,
and kept digital keepsakes which only I or my close ones understand and enjoy.

What will happen to all this collected media after 3 or 4 generations?
I bet that my great grandkids will be content with only 10 or so photos of me.
What about further down the genealogical tree? Who will care?

Nobody.

Why  take so much time, effort, and money to record material no one will see or want?
Cheap storage media makes keeping it all worthwhile, but who will have the time to review this material?

I have about three photos of my grandparents, and their rarity somehow makes them more special.
Memories become bigger than the lives that made them.

Maybe, this storage could be uploaded to our brains, every little detail of our ancestors at our beck and call.
History not told story by story but lived through our very own experience.
Walking human encyclopedias.

This is in no way finished…
I will update as it becomes clearer to me.

Trying To Get Back On Track

2007/06/08

So where have I been you ask?

I’ve spent the last few days helping out with some renders for a hotel in Beijing…
I got a new computer.
Spent a whole day just to remove Vista and get Xp on it.
Vista is bloated, complicated and most of the software I use doesn’t run on it.

The next few days I’ll post some cool stuff I’ve seen around.
Take care.
