Ultra wide sketch.
I want to try one of these myself…
Reminds me of Escher’s Metamorphose panoramas.

Sintesi Salone del Mobile 2007
2007/04/20Sintesi just launched two new products by me:
Buuk, a magazine holder made out of bent sheet metal. With it’s small footprint, it can be used on top of a desk too.
It is inspired by an open book, hence the name.
Fractal is a coat hanger. Even though it looks like a tree it wasn’t inspired by that.It has a recursive V shape that repeats 3 times halving in every iteration. I’d love to see it pushed to 9 iterations so you could hang 512 mini-coats!

How do you ‘trigger’ an invention?
A lack of oxygen is very important.
A lack? Isn’t that dangerous??
It’s very dangerous. I get that Flash just 0.5 sec before death. I remain under the surface until this trigger comes up and I write it down with a special waterproof plexiglas writing pad I invented.

and it was the first time I understood the concept of geometric progressions.

I really like what Lovegrove is doing.
Even though these designs are wasteful (carving things out of solid blocks),
he’s trying to push the limits of what is possible industrially.
Pure and simple research.
Lovegrove’s TEDTalks lecture.
A must see.
How To Sew A Button
2007/04/05I’m filing this away for future reference…
My fixing a button technique involves a million passes and knots.
