2004.03.16Perpetual Motion Machines are hypothetical machines that make energy from nowhere. In order to work they have to break the First or Second Law of Thermodynamics. A lot of time and effort has been invested in inventing one, but all of it has been in vain… Eric’s History of Perpetual Motion features a comprehensive list and links to the many that have tried. Perpetual Motion Pioneers shows some of the best efforts, and Is Perpetual Motion Possible? has some good animations that will show you how some of these machines are supposed to work.

2004.03.16Last year I went to visit my dad in Miami, He lives there now. We were both watching TV, and a sitcom (can’t remember which) came on. It had been a long time since I last watched American TV…anyway, I was caught off-guard by the fake dubbed laughs. I don’t need to be told when to laugh!
