Vacations almost over!!!
Be back blogging full speed on thursday next week…
Today we are in Ubatuba…This morning it was cloudy and walking around the beach we found this amazing…hmmm insect. I felt like a National Geographic photographer!

Mitla and I will be going on vacation to Brazil (2 weeks), so posting will be a bit sporadic. Go through the archives, they are full of nice links.
Thank you very much for reading…
Take a nice little image I did yesterday…100% digital. Click for HiRes.

Ever wondered how to tile a surface? Have you been amazed at how M.C. Escher tiled his complex drawings? Tessellations.org has excellent step by step tutorials on the subject, and features a gallery where you can see David Annal’s (designer of the site) and Escher’s work.

Dj Danger Mouse came up with a great idea….Mix vocals from Jay-Z’s Black Album with breaks ripped from The Beatles’ White Album…and you get the Grey Album. It sounds amazingly fresh…a completely new way to listen to The Beatles…and Jay-Z! Download it from Illegal Art while you can! (You’ll never find this in stores). Encore is my favorite…it rocks.

I just love Boring3D’s daily picture. Everything looks soft and real, like Play-Doh. A whole universe inside every image. Go through the archive and dream.
A brief but thorough history of time keeping, with excellent graphics and animations. From sundials to the atomic second…
Cinema Redux explores the idea of distilling a whole film down to one single image. Nice…I only hope he gets to do my favorites!

The Mushroom House conceived and constructed by Zube is a masterpiece of creative architecture. It makes me think of what Gaudi would have designed if he hadn’t lived in a city. Take the tour and admire the detail…I bet you could spend a month there, and still find something new everyday!
A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain.

The engineers that design computer chip masks sometimes hide images within the circuits of the chip. They can be anything…think of it as chip easter eggs. Silicon Zoo has a big collection of images, with explanations of how they’re done. Don’t forget to see the rest of the website as it has a huge amount of microscope photos ranging from antibiotics to wine!

My World 66 has put together a nifty utility:
A map that shows which countries you have visited. I have to travel more, as you can see from my example. There is still to much land for me to see!

Read the story behind one of the most fascinating icons of the 20th century: John Lennon’s Rolls Royce.

A child’s photo torn in half merged with adult photo of same person: Age Maps. Life is creepy…
