Wood that Works by David C. Roy are the most fascinating kinetic sculptures! Wind them up like clocks and they start their beautiful rhythmic movements. The website features flash animations detailing these magnificent pieces. I want one….or two!

They’re Just Lines

Minimalism tends to leave to much to the imagination, but with a little movement or animation it can convey a lot more meaning than its simple shapes. What? Don’t understand what I mean? Go check out Minimal Porn and be amazed at how much can be said with so little! Warning: slightly NSFW…

Look Ma, One Wheel!

2003.10.21

Who could possibly want a Segway, when you can get this?(well you actually can’t, it’s only a prototype). Bombardier EMBRIO Concept is a one-wheeled recreational and commuting vehicle. At a stop, the Embrio relies on a “landing gear” to stay upright. Above 12 miles per hour, the landing gear retracts leaving you gliding along on that fat wheel! Weeeee!

Fuselage Dream

2003.10.20

I am always dreaming of how my perfect house would be: unique, technological, comfortable, and in front of the beach. Airplane Homes can provide all that. They offer you a 727 as a homebuilt on a pedestal that swivels towards the wind direction. Smart. Ohhh by the way, the wings offers great balcony space!

A picture inside a picture inside a picture? Starting this project in March of ‘95 Mark-Steffen Göwecke takes a Polaroid and uses it in the next photo he takes, creating a tunnel through space-time. The amount of information contained is probably to high to calculate!!!

Ever heard a change in key in the repeat-till fade section of a pop song that strikes you as a breath of fresh air? It is one of the most used tricks in the book. A Truck Driver’s Gear Change. Visit Siegfried Baboon’s website, and learn from examples how an uncreative chorus can become a Tour de Force!

Cool Jewels

2003.10.16

Ted Noten is one guy who sees jewels in a different light. His pieces are more at home in a museum than on somebody. Wit, humor, and a fascination for the unique. Be sure to checkout the brooches he makes from pieces cut from a Mercedes Benz!

I thought that the fascinating drawings by M. C. Escher could only be represented in 2D, I was wrong. Escher for Real has photos of three-dimensional models and explanations of how many of his drawings were converted to reality.

Caribbean Style

The best logo of this trip is by far the one we found in the Island of Margarita in Venezuela.
Caribe Tututanga is a bathing suit store. I think it speaks for itself!
