Thanks to recording we are losing the green tinted memories we had. Every moment captured for posterity…shit! Did you forget the camera?

It seems to me that most of the things for which I have no photo, video, or other media are cataloged in my head as better. Every time you stop a moment in time with a photo, it sort of loses it’s charm. Re-lived. Been there, done that. With the advent of camera phones, unlimited hard drives, and scarce time, we’ll use less and less our brains way of storing and enhancing our memories. Storytelling which is a very powerful way of conveying experiences is dying fast, and is being replaced by media.

Hey I’m no Luddite! I am just curious of what will happen to millions of years of brain evolution.
Our brains turn everyday occurrences and experiences into complex coded memories… Just try explaining a dream of yours to somebody! Listen to your voice on a video….Do I talk like that?? We have the ability to add details, textures, and other paraphernalia which is not included on the recorded version. All this makes for a richer life experience and a more personal memory.

What’s my favorite color?
I’d have to go with cherenkov blue.

The Cherenkov Effect is electromagnetic radiation emitted when a charged particle passes through
an insulator at a velocity greater than the speed of light in that material.
It creates a blue glow. You’ve probably seen it a million times on film.
Sci-fi movies show it all the time, but when you see it in person it looks impossible…
Mitla’s dad Spero is a physicist. He had worked as head of the IPEN (the Institute of Nuclear and Energetic Research)
in the University of S�o Paolo. He took us there, he thought it would be cool. I thought so too!

The whole experience is amazing…You have to wear a lab coat to go in. You wear a radiation meter
to see if your radiation increases when you are done with the visit. You pass a Geiger counter on your
way in and out. All ventilation in the building blows into the main room, so if there is an accident
the radiation does not escape into the atmosphere. And all doors are double doors…you have to close the one
behind you in order to be able to open the next one.

So, in we went…they gave us a brief explanation of how the reactor works…
I wasn’t listening, my head was consumed by the surroundings.
The showed us the control center. It’s where the technicians control the reactor. In it is a window that looks
toward the pool, and inside the pool is the reactor itself. We went inside the room where the pool is.
The pool is about 9 meters deep. On the surface you could see a slight movement of the liquid (in this case heavy water).
Then when you look at the deep end of the pool you see it. The reactor. Lot’s of rods, tubes, and cherenkov blue. WOW.
I felt the immense urge to throw myself into the pool and swim towards this glow. I could not look away. Think a ball of blue neon.
Just beautiful. Cherenkov blue baby.

Steganography or stego is a way of hiding information inside a picture, text, or audio file.
In the example below I’ve hidden a technical drawing inside the picture of a Ferrari.
To anyone it looks like the picture of a car, but hidden in the redundant bits of info is the other picture.
This can be used to pass information to other people without anyone’s knowledge.The person receiving
the message only needs a password to decrypt the file.
It is said that Al Qaeda is communicating with it’s people by hiding plans in porn pictures or Ebay sales.

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89……..each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers.
This progression of numbers is called the Fibonacci Sequence. It appears in nature a lot:
pine cones, seeds, branches in a tree, even rabbit population growth.
The other day I took this closeup of a flower. I marveled at the colors and natures
experience in packing seeds in the most efficient way!
